Musky Russ Schaller in September

Meetings Resume in September

In September, we resume out chapter meetings and we're kicking off the fall season with one of our own - Musky Russ Schaller.  Russ fishes the Fox Chain of Lakes and River extensively through out the year and is a two time winner of the FRV Challunge Tournament.  In his own words...

"Been Fishing the Chain for 35 years, Lived on Petite lake for 20 of
those years. Local Guide from 1990 to 2007. Was a Tournament Walleye
Angler until the Musky Bug hit me in the early 80s. 2 time winner of the
FRV Fall challenge and Series Championship"

Russ will be talking about what he knows best - Fishing the Fox Chain and River.  During his presentation, he'll be touching on the following subjects:

• LATE FALL:  “POST SEASON SCOUTING ON THE FOX CHAIN.”
• LOWER FOX RIVER: “ICE OUT FISHING AT THE McHENRY DAM.”
• UPPER FOX RIVER:  “AN OVER LOOKED MUSKY FISHERY”
• PLAYING THE SIZE GAME:  “DOES SIZE REALLY MATTER”
• ONE FISHERMANS GO TO BAITS: “SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL”
• OLD SCHOOL MUSKY FISHING: “ LEARNING FROM THE PAST”
• THE SOUTHERN CONECTION: FOX, NIPPERSINK AND PISTAKEE LAKES “A COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW”

The September meeting is on Wednesday Septemeber 10th at the Poplar Creek Country Club.  The buffet of pulled pork sandwiches starts at 6:00 pm and the meeting will begin at 7:30 pm. 

Kids Fishing Derby

The annual kids fishing derby that FRV co-sponsors with the Bartlett Park District is Saturday August 9th from 8:00 am till noon.  Registration starts at 7:00 am and Volunteers are still needed.   This is a free event for the kids focused on promoting positive fishing experiences.   Check out the message board for more information or to post questions.    Link to fishing derby discussion:  http://frvmuskie.com/portal/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1903&posts=7

2008 FRV Fall Challunge on the Chain
